ENTRY

Exeggutor is the Coconut Pokémon, a dual Grass and Psychic type that first appeared in the original generation of discovered species from the Kanto region. Standing roughly two meters tall, it cuts a striking and almost surreal silhouette: a thick, pale yellow trunk supported by two stout, stubby legs, topped by a dense crown of large, round heads resembling ripe coconuts. Each head is yellow with a cream-toned face, and most individuals display three visible heads at any given time, though some carry more. Each head bears its own distinct expression, one appearing serene, another puzzled, another simply content, a visible sign of what researchers have long confirmed: each head contains a distinct mind with its own thoughts and moods. The overall form evokes a walking tropical palm, and the sheer mass and height of a healthy specimen commands immediate attention on any forest trail.

Exeggutor favors dense, sun-dappled forests where the canopy is high enough to accommodate its considerable stature and where reliable sunlight filters down to fuel its photosynthetic needs. It is most commonly encountered in the warmer, more temperate forested zones of Kanto, as well as in the lush tropical regions of Alola, where conditions favor exceptionally vigorous growth. Within a forest, clusters of Exeggutor tend to gather near clearings or at forest edges where sunlight exposure is greatest. They are not strictly solitary, as small groups sometimes share territory, but they do not form tight herds either. Exeggutor is primarily a diurnal Pokémon, most active during the brightest daylight hours, and it rarely ventures far from its preferred grove once it has established a comfortable patch of ground.

The multiple heads of Exeggutor operate semi-independently, communicating with one another through a constant low-level psychic resonance. When all heads agree, the Pokémon moves and acts with calm purpose. When they disagree, which observers report happens more often than one might expect, Exeggutor can appear distracted or erratic, occasionally swaying or spinning in place as the competing wills negotiate. It feeds primarily through photosynthesis but supplements this with nutrients drawn through its feet from the soil, making fertile, moist forest floor essential to its wellbeing. An enduring piece of field lore holds that on rare occasions, one of its heads may detach and fall to the forest floor, where it does not perish but instead carries on independently as a cluster of Exeggcute. This peculiarity has fascinated researchers for decades and remains one of the more remarkable biological phenomena documented in the Grass type.

In battle, Exeggutor draws on two distinct abilities depending on the individual. Chlorophyll, its standard ability, harnesses strong sunlight to dramatically increase its movement speed, transforming what is ordinarily a rather slow Pokémon into a genuine threat capable of acting before many opponents. Its hidden ability, Harvest, grants the Pokémon a chance to recover a consumed Berry at the end of each turn when sunlight is present, making it an unusually durable combatant in prolonged exchanges when paired with restorative held items. Offensively, Exeggutor leans decisively toward special attacks, possessing formidable special attack power that makes its Grass and Psychic type moves genuinely threatening. Its defensive profile is less impressive, as the Grass and Psychic combination carries a notable list of vulnerabilities including susceptibility to Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, Ice, Ghost, and Dark type attacks. Trainers typically deploy it in sunny weather conditions to compensate for its modest speed and lean into the synergy between Chlorophyll and its high special attack output.

Exeggutor is the final evolved form of Exeggcute, a peculiar cluster of six small egg-shaped Pokémon that share a fragmented collective psyche. Exeggcute evolves into Exeggutor through exposure to a Leaf Stone, a sudden and dramatic transformation that channels the scattered psychic energy of the cluster into the towering, multi-headed form. Exeggutor sits toward the higher end of the Kanto Pokédex and represents one of the most powerful Grass type Pokémon available in its generation. Researchers and competitive trainers alike have long valued it for its rare combination of substantial special attacking power with a healing ability that rewards careful item management. Its place in Pokémon history is further enriched by the existence of a distinct regional variant found in Alola, where the abundance of sunlight pushes the evolutionary process to an extreme, producing a dramatically elongated and entirely different form. The standard form, however, remains a beloved and enduring figure, recognized immediately by its swaying silhouette and the serene, slightly unsettling chorus of expressions staring out from its many-headed crown.
